Oskars Pram Blanket, Hat And Scarf, Finished

So I have them pictured as promised, I actually finished the blanket a while ago, just never got it on the blog. Oh, and I knitted the blanket on the 360 with ribber.l
I made the scarf last week on the LK 150 and the hat this evening on the Bond, I used some of that Fun Fur fancy yarn, and it was a pain in the neck to sew with! Lol. I think I should of knitted the scarf on the Bond too, as the hat came out nicer.

Here are the pictures. I will get these laundered and wrapped up for his birthday ASAP.

A close up of the stitch pattern, it is 13 rows of half fisherman's rib, then, 13 rows of full fisherman's rib. It makes kind of a stripey look, it is also makes a nice thick fabric, being a tucked ribbing.

Here is the hat and scarf, I am pleased with the way they have turned out. The hat was hard to sew up as I couldn't see the stitches to sew it together. I did do a folded hem for the brim of the hat, but you can't really see it, because of all the fur, haha.

A quick tip to anyone who has not knitted with fancy, furry yarns on the knitting machine before - When you take your work off the machine, you will need to gently brush the purl side of the knitting with a soft brush (preferably a baby brush as it has nice soft bristles and will not snag the stitches) to bring out the fluffy effect. On the knitting machine, all the little hairy pieces wound onto the yarn gets knitted in, unlike when knitting this sort of yarn by hand.

Talk to you later,
Alex.

  1. That's so nice Alex. I wouldn't even attempt any yarn other than normal on my machine.

Love the blanket. Did you do it all in one piece? My ribber won't do that much without throwing a wobbler. I plan to make a blanket but will make it in 4 pieces then crochet them together. Just put an order in for some nice pastel yarns for the blanket.
