Sweater nearly finished
well what do you think? my original plan was to do it in
stocking stitch but I changed my mind and decided to do it
in tuck stitch but then I kept having problems with the gauge,
I must of re knitted it 5 times anyway I did cables instead.
I knitted these gloves from (Diana's channel) on the Bond
last week in the same yarn that was left over so it would
match the sweater.
I made these on the Lk 150 this morning they are also one
of Diana's creations these are for my mum.

Alex - its FANTASTIC!!!!!! WOW!!! Im impressed!!! It looks great - im going to ask how you do your cables. I tried on my 155 once but i struggled moving the carriage across the crossed stitches. Do you leave the needle either side of the cable stitches out of work and then latch the bars up?
ReplyDeleteWhen I have crossed the cables I put those stitches in holding position plus a few stitches at either side, have the carriage set so it knits all the stitches. It is easier this way as the carriage can just knit them back and doesn’t have too push them forward as well.
ReplyDeleteAs I don't yet have a ribber for my 155 I just drop the stitch next to the cable and re latch it up, I do this after about every 2nd or third cable. For the centre cable on the sweater above I dropped and re latched two stitches on either side of it.
Beautiful. & the mittens are a great addition. Good job!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheryl
